What we aim to solve
Since 2007, Anike Foundation has dedicated its work to one clear purpose: making education accessible to improve the livelihoods of individuals in Africa. We focus on Africa because literacy rate in Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa, is the lowest in the world. The statistics are staggering: • More than 1 in 3 adults (or more than 180 million people) cannot read • 50 million youths (aged 15-24) are illiterate • Over 20% primary aged children (that’s 30 million children) are not in school

Provision of Computers, Laptops and LCD Monitors to Schools in Africa
OBJECTIVES
1.To unlock potential of less privileged school leavers by providing compatible skills to better fit labor market
2.To prepare students in a modern and globally connected environment
3.To conduct training programs in various business related disciplines to different groups
4.To cooperate with various institutions/foundations to promote research and entrepreneurial skills
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Lack of access to modern technology is hindering the progress of many youths in Africa. Anike Foundation is working to alleviate this problem by providing technological tools, such as computers, laptops and other hardware to institutions and training centers in various countries in Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Liberia. Given the growing importance of training as a factor in economic competitiveness, the provision of these resources and subsequent training to enhance the ability of the benefactors to obtain good-quality jobs and, hence, lift them out of poverty.
PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED
• Providing opportunities to unprivileged children, youth and young women
• Training local talents whereby the skills provided will avail them with employment opportunities
Provision of Sewing Machines to Vocational Training Centers
Teenage girls at-risk, who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual abuse or dropped out of school , will be socially and economically empowered with education and life skills through basic needs, psycho-social support, vocational skills, leading to employment and self reliance of 30 teenage girls. These girls have experienced childhood traumas stemming from various adverse social conditions like: poor socio-economic backgrounds, family dysfunction, and domestic violence in the home, drug abuse and alcohol addiction. The program will support 30 girls per year aged 13-22 by providing services such as supervision and care, psycho-social support, short course vocational skills, especially tailoring, linkage to employers, startup capital and business skills to enable them achieve their full potential in the society.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Ship books, computers, laptops & other hardware to training centers in Africa

1. We have enlisted a team of international volunteers who are dedicated to making our goals happen.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Over the past several years, we have executed, on the average, four programs per year. Our most successful program is our Ambassador Pilot Program (). Working with our "Spin the Wheel" partners from Greece, during two trips to Malawi and Tanzania in 2017 and 2019, we have have delivered school supplies and support that benefited 12,000 students in 22 Malawian and Tanzanian schools.
