What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Since 2007, Anike Foundation has dedicated its work to one clear purpose: making education accessible to improve the livelihoods of individuals in Africa. We focus on Africa because literacy rate in Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa, is the lowest in the world. The statistics are staggering: • More than 1 in 3 adults (or more than 180 million people) cannot read • 50 million youths (aged 15-24) are illiterate • Over 20% primary aged children (that’s 30 million children) are not in school

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. Ship books, computers, laptops & other hardware to training centers in Africa
2. Provide vocational training to at-risk and disadvantaged girls in Africa.
3. Support individuals and groups that wish to visit Africa while contributing to its educational development, via our Ambassador Program.

1. Establish a network of vetted nonprofit organizations and accredited institutions of learning in Africa.
2. Obtain individual and corporate donations.

1. We have enlisted a team of international volunteers who are dedicated to making our goals happen.

Over the past several years, we have executed, on the average, four programs per year. Our most successful program is our Ambassador Pilot Program (). Working with our "Spin the Wheel" partners from Greece, during two trips to Malawi and Tanzania in 2017 and 2019, we have have delivered school supplies and support that benefited 12,000 students in 22 Malawian and Tanzanian schools.
