Private and Semi Private Lessons

For almost 20 years, Musically Minded has a successful educational model that pairs each student with an instructor for customized weekly private, semi-private or small group lessons. Each instructor skillfully plans their individual instructional inside of our monthly calendar of student performance events. In traditional music instruction, student prepare for 1-2 recitals per year. Musically Minded students has expanded this model by offering performance and collaboration opportunities on most months of the academic year. Events range from casual to formal and have been carefully constructed create an educational arc that naturally builds skills that we believe are more difficult to obtain with lessons alone.

This educational model grows confident, skilled, content, creative and collaborate students. Our community of students, families, administrators and music fans have a “people first, music second” attitude that sounds backwards to most educational centers. We believe that students thrive in our environment that inspires connection, inspiration, collaboration and self-expression.

Campers will work together to develop their own scripts and then create everything needed for the show, from props to costumes. At the end of camp, they will present a full-costumed performance with a new theme each week!

Teamed by age and led by our dynamic staff, campers dive into music, art, and on stage play. Each week, campers collaborate, leveraging their individual strengths to develop a final performance. Through this work, they convey ideas and emotions and build awareness of nuance, complexity, structure, emphasis and theme in musical expression.

Instructors and counselors donate their instructional time so these camps are offered primarily through volunteership. Campers are also offered financial aid through need based scholarships .

Small group instrumental classes are offered to 4-6 students at a time. Instructors integrates their teaching knowledge with the material that is presented in method books to create a structured and dynamic learning environment for each specific age range.

Group lessons require a team effort to be successful. Instructors work with students to develop group dynamics that are supportive and inspiring. Parents/caregivers, instructors, the administration and the students work together to create a dynamic learning environment.

Group learning is a powerful educational experience at Musically Minded Academy.
