What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

LivingStone is challenged by funding the needs of both operating and maintaining a University experiencing exponential growth while building a permanent campus, either of which is a full-time endeavour. However, God has been faithful and is leading us through our version of the wilderness journey. It is with this expectation of provision that we are faithfully stewarding the gifts to meet these challenges and serve the 300+ students of more than ten nations.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Stateside, we are working to fully fund operations to support a student population of 320+ in the 2018-2019 academic year. Through generous donations we are completing Phase 1A of the permanent campus. This will allow us to fully move our operations to the permanent campus in the fall of 2019.

Our total funding needs are $1 - 1.3 million for all operations in Uganda and the U.S.

Additionally, $2.5 million is needed for Phase 1B of the permanent campus. This phase is to build the main administration building, providing 24 classrooms/labs, 38 offices, library, student union, café, and meeting and other spaces for University purposes.

In addition to continued work with our current base of donors we are working to secure additional donor partners for this work. The addition of the Senior Director of Development has completed our transition to a development/advancement driven organization in the U.S. Our efforts to introduce LivingStone International University to new potential donors is our primary U.S. focus. Our long-term goals are to continue to expand the development department to meet the needs of the growing University in Uganda.

In Uganda, the University is continuing to recruit new students and develop the student body at LIU. Additionally, we are working onplans for additional degrees, as well as, a 5-7 year strategic plan for LIU.

The Senior Development of Director is devoted to full-time development efforts and free from the burden of excessive administration and marketing efforts. These are accomplished by the Executive Director and office staff. This allows development to flourish and momentum to build and continue with each effort.

We utilize annual planning and are working the plan and developing project of interest to donors.

In Uganda, recruitment is underway to fill the vacating spots by those completing their degrees this academic year and expand our base of students to attend LIU.

Additionally, further development of the Board of Directors has, and is, being achieved with key Board appointments in Uganda. Our leadership in Uganda is strong and competent.

Growing from 29 students to 304 in seven years is quite a task for a new university and we expect this explosive growth to continue.

Our long-range plans, vision and permanent campus ultimately allow for a thriving university of 4,000 and we are diligently working toward that goal and securing the future of LivingStone International University.
