Hope Charity International (HCI): a vital force in the advancement of approaches to cancer treatment, control, and prevention A Mission Unlike Any Other HCI is dedicated exclusively to the support and coordination of laboratory and clinical efforts that will lead to the immunological treatment, control, and prevention of cancer. A Commitment to Research Discovery-driven scientific research is the only way to find more effective, innovative approaches to cancer. HCI is committed to translating basic discovery into real-life applications in the clinic, and is dedicated to overcoming hurdles to academically-led clinical discovery efforts. Excellence Choosing Excellence Expert scientists including Nobel laureates and members of the National Academy of Sciences guide all of HCI’s funding

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Direct Patient Support

We offer direct support to patients through a patient assistance fund for cancer treatments, support services, transportation, food, and other needs critical to their care and treatment journey. Patients are connected to us through their care team, and we select patients for services based on available funding and financial need. Last year, we served 250 patients through this service.

Population(s) Served

We serve as a resource referral for all cancer patients. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is daunting, and many patients do not know where to start. We offer patients roadmaps to services in their communities, including other safety net services and support groups. We provide these services to the patients directly served by HCI doctors, as well as to partnering practices in Los Angeles.
