What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Education
We have developed new educational programs for schools to build knowledge about water. In 2018, we partnered with 26 schools to teach the Next Generation Science Standards. Many of the lessons involve finding solutions to real-world problems and examining the impact of human activities on water and the environment. Students work on engineering and science projects using critical thinking skills and collaboration.
Advocacy
Ensuring that we have environmentally friendly laws and ordinances in New Jersey and to work with municipalities on stormwater management and reduced flooding
Science
Water quality monitoring in central New Jersey to collect data on the health of the rivers, lakes and streams. Educate the public on ways they can change habits and behaviors to protect water and the environment
Conservation
Demonstrate best practices in sustainabilty through our LEED Platinum environental center and stewardhip of our 960 acre reserve. 10 miles of walking trails and an accessible boardwalk are available to the public.
