Harrisburg Dance Conservatory

Dance education - classes for ages three through adult: creative movement, pre-ballet, ballet, modern dance, tap and jazz.

Performing season: Consists of several performances, including an annual Nutcracker and The Cracked Nut (December), June Showcase (June), and the Spring Concert of our performing company (April or May). Other events include free community concerts at malls and local festivals, performances at the Regional Dance America Northeast festival each year, and special performances and lecture/demonstration programs for schools, nursing facilities, hospitals and community groups.

Scholarships/tuition subsidies: Provides assistance to those whose economic circumstances would make it difficult or impossible to afford professional dance training.

Master Classes: respected guest instructors, many of national and international prominence, train dancers both from the Conservatory's student population and beyond at regularly scheduled sessions.

Summer Intensive Workshop: four-week intensive session with guest instructors each July-August. Dancers from several states and Puerto Rico have attended these workshops.

Collaborative efforts: We regularly collaborate with other area arts organizations, including the Harrisburg Opera, Harrisburg Symphony, Wednesday Club Youth Chamber Orchestra, Ngozi Inc., and Theatre Harrisburg (formerly Harrisburg Community Theatre). We promote community involvement and cooperation among arts organizations.
