Mission

New Hope exists to help first time single mothers attain:
. Emotional stability
. Parenting expertise
. Physical well-being
. Financial security and a meaningful career
. Spiritual serenity and growth

The all volunteer staff helps the mom build a strong goal orientation while helping her build basic skills. The heart of the program is a one-on-one mentoring program for each mom which is a minimum of a 3 year commitment. Education (vocational, professional and/or higher ed) is a primary focus and for those without a high school diploma, obtaining a GED is top priority.

Mentoring

Clients are assigned a mentor who will work with them to establish and monitor a comprehensive plan to achieve self-sufficiency. This will include budgeting, parenting, education and job counselling and often includes grants for housing, child care, education or transportation. This support will be available for a minimum of 3 years.

Monthly workshops are offered to coach moms in a variety of life skills. These include parenting, budgeting, career counselling, job interviewing, resume writing, educational choices, etc.

New moms will be provided with everything they need for their babies. We solicit, collect, store and manage all manner of baby items including diapers, clothes and furniture.
