What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Land Conservation

The Trust sponsors events, educational workshops and lectures and makes its properties available for natural history programming of area schools and other interested organizations. It also works closely with the Town of Marion, local businesses and environmental agencies and with other Lands Trusts. The Sippican Lands Trust believes that New England's rich natural resources can be preserved most effectively through collaborative citizen participation. We have an active Stewardship Program of volunteers who monitor, maintain, photograph and report on Trust wildlife refuges on a seasonal basis. Their surveys enable us to monitor general conditions as well as identify any situations that require attention. Since 1994 with fundraising in the private sector, foundations and government agencies, we have helped to protect more than 207 acres of land.
