What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Residential Services
The Rose House provides group home and supported apartment living services for adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help our clients develop and improve their life skills to the full extent of their abilities.
Since opening its doors in 1999, The Rose House has built four residential homes and one independent living apartment facility for adults with developmental disabilities. Each residential home features around-the-clock support care staff to support residents' needs. Each home offers spacious living with each resident having their own room and access to each community's recreation areas and social events. Residents are able to plan their days based on personal goals, including employment, recreation, education, and personal interests.
Community Supports
The Rose House is a DDD-approved provider for Self-Directed Services, offering one-on-one personal support in the areas of life skills training, community activities, errands, household chores, and personal assistance.
Our program works with assessment tools, individualized budgets, plan of care development through Essential Lifestyle Planning (ELP), support coordination & team process; and fiscal intermediary.
Vocational Training
The Rose House Vocational Programs focus on employment in the food services industry, providing students with the training they need for quality jobs in private industry, opportunities to learn employment and interpersonal skills needed for success, “on the job” experience during training, and transitioning from training to job identification and employment.
Our instructors are professional staff with extensive experience in the disabled community. The students-to-instructor ratio is six to one (or less) in the classroom setting, and three to one (or less) working for The Rose House’s catering program.
Instructors also serve as mentors to program graduates, providing one-to-one support as they search for jobs, interview with prospective employers, and work at their new jobs.
Our graduates usually seek jobs in fast food chains or restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, and company cafeterias. However, over the years, the job skills developed by our graduates have also been useful in getting entry level positions with non-food related retail stores and small office environments.
