Play for Fun, Learn for Life

Play for Fun, Learn for Life is the core PSNI program and is a catalyst for children’s development and for wider community engagement, providing an inclusive, year- round educational program in under-served areas. It has a well- defined curriculum that uses activity-based education to teach substantive health and social life skills to promote wellness and development, starting with girls and boys at an early age (5-15 years). It teaches prevention of both communicable and non-communicable disease, physical education and exercise science, gender equality, fair play, teamwork and respect for others. As a recreational program, open to all regardless of skill, it promotes appropriate physical activity that is beneficial for motor and cardiovascular development, lifelong wellness and socio-economic productivity. The game is a powerful tool to promote knowledge, education and self- responsibility so that children become agents of change and engagement in their communities. Children develop physical, motor and cognitive skills through the exercise, and both short and long term health and educational benefits through the fun, inclusive activities and content.
