Mission

Kvali was founded and operational in 1999, incorporated in 2001, and designated 501c3 in March 2002. Our mission is the advancement of education, promotion of independent media & the arts, and relief of the poor, underserved and underdeveloped. We help the Georgian-American children, youth and their families overcome educational and cultural gaps, and enable the building and maintaining of ties to their new US community and native country, while strengthening the overall family entity in society. We accomplish this by providing integrally linked empowerment services focused on literacy education, training and communications, where leaders are being developed at the grassroots level for continued success. We look to leverage learning and outreach through efficient and effective use of modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT, such as computers and the Internet), knowing the future relies on these capabilities.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Kvali has 5 key Program areas designed to serve its constituency and community in the advancement and promotion of Education, Independent Media, Literature, Art & Culture, and Health & Human Services. Specifically, they include: [1] Advancement of English Language (ESL) Proficiency and Computer Literacy, [2] Promotion of Electronic Outreach and Networking through Online Publishing and Distance Learning, [3] International Education Cooperation and Foreign Student Exchange Assistance, [4] Preserving Emigrant Archives while Promoting Art and Literature, and [5] Counseling and Mentoring. Kvali's Programs provide a logical solution to the socio-economic challenges of the present while preparing for those of the future and increasing societal diversity awareness. The overall methodology is focused on increasing the pace of progress in the Georgian-American community and enacting lasting change. Enabling the disadvantaged and underserved Georgian emigrants to realize their full potential, overcome barriers to full participation in society and become self sufficient is a primary goal. Fostering an open, literate, educated, skilled, healthy and prosperous cross-cultural society is a desired outcome.
