Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. Straight and Narrow will engage with internal and external stake-holders opportunities to streamline utilization management, treatment coverage decisions and to establish a strong linkage between services provided and the billing services
2. We strive to assure that clients are provided optimal quality care and education, in a therapeutically safe and secure environment.
3. Collaboration within our overall umbrella organization and integration of services where possible with our sister organization to promote unification of staff, enhanced understanding of each our individual services provisions to support the overall consolidation of Catholic Charities.
4. Developing and implementing curriculum that brings the science of the disease of addiction and its treatment to practice is critical to help close this knowledge and workforce gap.

1. Improving the organizations effectiveness through implementing CARF criteria to evaluate and establish the agency’s systems and policy and procedures
2. Improving the physical environment and safety through evaluating and updating property management needs, and enhancing daily custodial services for internal and external environments
3. By training capable staff and have sufficient resources to not only allow those who suffer from addiction because free of substance abuse, but are able to rejoin society as an improved version of themselves they fought so hard to be.

Founded in 1954, Straight & Narrow has evolved into a premier, pace-setting, comprehensive social service, health care, and community development agency. 60 years of service to the community makes us the longest-running community-based residential treatment facility for those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol in the United States of America.

Straight and Narrow works collaboratively with community partners within the counties in which we operate, throughout our state, and across our nation. Together we provide state of the art treatment services for those in recovery. Internally, Straight and Narrow program directors meet weekly to assure that all service recipients are receiving a high quality of care. Furthermore, since 2017, Straight and Narrow has unified with Catholic Charities Diocese of Paterson's additional agencies to work collaboratively to provide extended help for individuals and families in need.

1. Straight and Narrow has become the largest nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment facility in the United States. We serve daily 1,000 clients in recovery.
2. We offer a full continuum of care for people struggling with addiction: our admissions department, a detox hospital, short term and long term residential treatment for men and women, a halfway house for men, out patient counseling, medication assisted treatment, and the intoxicated drivers resource center.
3. Straight and Narrow is continuously CARF accredited showing commitment to excellence and a high quality of care.
4. In the Fall of 2021, we opened CCFIT at the O'Connor Wellness Center to provide fitness and wellness opportunities to people in recovery.
5. In August of 2019, we experienced a devastating fire at our halfway house facility in Paterson. Thankfully no one was injured, and we were able to continue to provide support. We are currently working with architects, contractors, and community partners to rebuild this center as a state of the art treatment facility.
