What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Early Intervention
The Arc of Warren County provides a unique Early Intervention (EI) experience for families of infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years old with developmental delays or disabilities.
As the only agency in New Jersey to house the Targeted Evaluation Team, Service Coordination Unit and provider agency (Project First Step) in one place, we are able to provide evaluations, assessments, ongoing services, family support and transition to preschool services.
Project First Step has been the exclusive provider of EI services in Warren County for 35 years, and has experienced, caring staff providing Developmental Intervention, Family Training, Infant Massage, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work and Speech Therapy services. We also work with other community agencies and school districts to enhance EI services.
Family Support
Family Support is designed to strengthen and promote families who provide care within the family home for a family member with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Recreation
This program offers a variety of recreational opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to social activities, outings, and and sporting events, other programs include:
Camp Warren summer camp program providing a day and residential camp experience for all ages.
Saturday Adult Respite Program providing a variety of planned activities for adults who are DDD eligible and living with their families in the community.
Saturday Children’s Respite Programs at two different locations providing a variety of activities and socialization for children ages 3 to 18 who are DDD eligible and living with their families.
Therapeutic Recreation Respite Program providing small group recreation programming for consumers 18 and older who are DDD eligible and living with their families in the community.
Community Living Arrangements
The Arc of Warren County has provided residential services for adult men and women with various developmental disabilities since opening our first group home in 1982. Currently we serve 81 individuals in 14 group homes and 3 supervised apartment programs throughout Warren County.
The focus of all of our programs is to teach each individual to function in the most independent manner possible, while learning and maintaining appropriate community social skills. To this end, each individual assists in the development of their annual Individual Habilitation Plan, which includes goals and objectives focused on teaching them the skills they want to learn, in areas that may include recreation, social opportunities, personal care, cooking, and housekeeping.
