Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our Goal is to get the Montclair community more engaged with MSF as well as making sure that our funds are more easily distributed to our recipients. Last year we distributed $361,000 to the class of 2022 and we hope to increase this to $450,000 for the class of 2023
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Previously we required students to fill out a form and bring the form to the bursar. The bursar would then sign the form and send it back to our office. Once we received the form from the bursar we would send the check to the college or university with the name of the student on it. Due to covid this system was not working well. This fall we changed our process by contacting all scholarship recipients, obtaining their student ID numbers as well as the mailing address of the bursar. We now send the bursar the check withe student's name and ID number with a statement that if there is an off-set or if the student is not enrolled the check must be returned to us. This has been VERY successful!
We are engaging the Montclair community by attending and participating in community events. We just entered the town Scarecrow contest. In addition, we plan to speak to PTA council to have each elementary school sponsor a scholarship. Finally we are planning small cultivation events to increase our donor base.
