What we aim to solve
In York, hunger takes many forms. It can be ongoing or periodic, and is not limited to any particular neighborhood or group of people. Faced with setbacks, many York County residents must make a difficult choice between food and other necessities like rent, medicine, or gasoline. Such choices represent the daily reality for more than 55,000 people in our county. Some of our community's most vulnerable populations experience hunger, such as children and senior adults. In fact, 100% of York City School District students qualify for the free lunch program. The Food Bank aims to ensure that no one in our county goes hungry.
