What we aim to solve

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Camelot for Children aspires to be a beneficial resource to children with special needs and their families. Other goals include: being a positive asset to our entire community, increasing awareness and empathy in our community, providing our volunteers with rewarding and enriching experiences and making the magic of childhood accessible to this wonderful population of kids.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We host multiple opportunities each month for our kids and their families to gather at social get-togethers. We have teen night events with music and food and fun for our kids. We hold after school help sessions to support the children and families with skill development and peer interaction. Our kids are welcome at our 6 week, full day summer camp where they have a one on one buddy at all times. Camelot greatly values its volunteers of all ages. We provide training and meetings to help our teen volunteers develop skill sets that help them at Camelot and beyond. In addition, we have a presence at events around the community to help share our mission.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have an 11+ acre campus with an accessible playground and splashpad, an interactive water play area, as part of our outdoor facilities. Our indoor facilities include a nurse's office, party room, education room with multiple chromebooks and a printer, kitchen, birthday closet, dining room, and family room. We have one full-time staff member and one part-time staff member. We have 15 voting members on our Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of dedicated and passionate members of our community, representing a wide variety of professionals and area employers. We have over 150 volunteers that do amazing work with our children and around our campus and community.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Camelot for Children has a wonderful reputation in our community. We have provided so many meaningful memories and opportunities to families and our volunteers. We have an accessible campus with many resources and areas for growth. What's next for Camelot? Expanding our outdoor facilities to include areas for basketball, a multi-use sports field and overall improvements. We are always assessing the needs of our children, families and volunteers and adapting and adding programming to address those needs.
