Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Channels distributes over 700,000 pounds of excess perishable food every year through its daily collection and distribution program.
Channels serves up to 800 hot meals per day to at-risk children in 15 Kids Cafe after-school programs.
The Kitchen School trains disadvantaged and low-income adults in a 12-week culinary arts, food safety and life skills course.
The Plant-a-Row program, jointly with the Food Writers' Association of America, encourages gardeners to plant an extra row of vegetables for the hungry which Channels collects and distributes when in season.
New Leaf Catering provides professional no-frills catering services to other charitable organizations.
Food Rescue
Drivers pick up prepared and perishable foods from over 60 regular donors, and deliver to area agencies that feed people in need.
Kids Cafe
Professional chef prepares meals for children in afterschool programs, and our drivers deliver the meals daily.
The Kitchen School
A culinary arts job-training program designed to equip hard-to-employ persons with marketable skills leading to sustainable employment
