Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
CSCCF Scholarship Program
The CSCCF receives, manages and distributes scholarship funds, having awarded more than $10 million since the Foundation's creation in 1971. In the past three years, 537 scholarships were awarded, with an increase in the quantity and amount expected in the next three years.
Performance Series
Over the last 15 years, Columbia State Community College, First
Farmers Bank and other sponsors and patrons have
successfully brought local and world-renowned artists to perform on
the Cherry Theater stage as part of the Performance Series. Past seasons have featured international performances from Russia,
Ireland, and Canada, as well as acts from Nashville, Baltimore and
other U.S. cities. The Series has featured an eclectic mix of shows
ranging from the Nashville Symphony, to the Cumberland Playhouse, to the
Platters.
Cultural Enrichment
Pryor Art Gallery
hosts exhibits and special visual arts events year round. These include artists
ranging from local to internationally recognized. The Foundation provides a
portion of the curator's salary, maintains the physical space and
equipment through an endowment and takes a leadership role in promoting
cultural opportunities associated with the Gallery.
Extended Campus Support
The CSCCF provides
support where needed to Columbia State's extended campuses to assist with
maintaining facilities and other needs. Columbia State Community College was
established in 1966 as the first two-year institution in the state of
Tennessee. The college currently offers more than 50 areas of study at its five
locations (campuses at Columbia, Franklin, Lawrenceburg, Lewisburg, and
Clifton, Tennessee.) The college serves nine counties: Hickman, Lawrence,
Lewis, Giles, Marshall, Maury, Perry, Wayne and Williamson. Of the approximate
5,500 students enrolled, more than half will transfer to four-year institutions
for completion of academic work. The college also awards Associate degrees and
technical certificates.
Williamson County Campus Expansion
Continue raising funds to proceed with subsequent phases of the Williamson Campus project -- the first phase is complete and the campus has opened to rousing success! (See: http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/local/williamson/2017/04/20/franklin-shifting-image-community-college/100347544/ for more about the impact of the campus) However, subsequent phases include the addition of a much-needed parking garage and more classroom/lab buildings to meet the needs of quickly-growing enrollment.
