Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Raise $25 million in total fundraising from 7/1/16 - 6/30/25.
2. Retain and recover donors.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
By building relationships with alumni and community members, we can solicit funds to support the university. We employ a balanced fundraising approach that focuses on annual support, corporate sponsorships and matching funds, endowment building, and planned giving vehicles.
Since 1978, the University System of Maryland Foundation has managed and administered funds for the benefit of institutions and foundations affiliated with the University System of Maryland. Their investment objective is to generate returns sufficient to meet spending requirements while preserving the purchasing power of the Endowment over time. The Endowment pool is made up of several thousand individual Endowment funds which support scholarships, research, faculty, academic programs, and various special initiatives.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a robust and well-educated staff who are committed to achieving our goals.
At June 30, 2022, the endowment has grown to more than $37 million. Approved responsible spending continues to support the university and its students.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
1. We have raised $19,564,335 through 1/12/2023.
2. We will hold Bobcat Giving Day on 3/1/2023 which is a great tool to retain and recover donors.
The Foundation provided approximately $2.35 million in total support of Frostburg State University in FY2022. Of the total support, scholarships and other student aid totaled just over $1 million.
