Mission
Cappella Cantorum is the premiere non-auditioned community choral group of the Connecticut Shoreline and lower Connecticut River Valley. The organization’s primary purpose is to give singers of all ages the opportunity to learn, perform and share great choral music. In addition to twice yearly concerts, the group promotes music education and appreciation through summer singing programs, vocal training workshops, and other events open to the public.

Cappella Cantorum Masterworks Chorus
Cappella Cantorum Masterworks Chorus is a non-auditioned community choral group that provides singers throughout Connecticut the opportunity to perform challenging and diverse choral music with a professional orchestra and professional and/or member soloists.
Although its original members were primarily from the Lower Connecticut River Valley and Shoreline area, Cappella Cantorum Masterworks Chorus now has members from more than 31 communities across Connecticut, with singers coming together from as far west as Waterbury, as far north as Wethersfield, and across the Shoreline from East Haven to Stonington.
Summer Sings
The annual program of SummerSings, co-sponsored by Cappella Cantorum and Con Brio (another local choral group), provides opportunities to enjoy singing choral works through the summer months (when most choirs are on break), without the pressure of preparing for performance.
Most sessions focus on a standard choral masterwork, while some venture into other genres such as spirituals, Broadway, the Great American Songbook, and others.
SummerSings offers the experience to work with recognized professional conductors and soloists in a relaxed atmosphere. All are welcome, regardless of whether they sing regularly with another choir. Vocal scores are available on loan.
Messiah Sing and Listen
Cappella Cantorum hosts the Annual Messiah Sing and Listen Concert at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT. This popular holiday event gives singers and music lovers throughout the area an opportunity to perform or sit back and enjoy a live performance of Handel's Messiah (the beloved Christmas section), culminating in the famous Hallelujah Chorus, with professional soloists. Music scores are available on loan during the event.
