Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Water Wells and Pumps
Learn from experts about new technologies and techniques to save money and reduce carbon footprint. Design, maintenance and operation that will increase well yields.
Ground Water Institute for Teachers
A two-day program to assist teachers in incorporating water topics into the science curriculum. However, teachers in “other” subject areas such a math and social studies will find much helpful information in this event. Typically a full spectrum of teachers attend, very few of whom have had much training or prior experience of basic hydrologic or environmental aspects of water, water supply or water related issues. Background is provided on topics such as the state’s water resources, implications of aquifer overdraft, impacts of hydraulic fracturing, groundwater quality, climate change and water supply, where and how water wells are drilled, how pumps work, water conservation strategies … and more.
Groundwater Conferences
Groundwater Conferences are state specific. They bring together engineers, scientist, planners, water-resource managers, agency professionals and attorneys to share up to date information regarding the challenges, feasibility, regulatory concerns and the economic and environmental benefits of water management strategies. AGWT holds Groundwater Conferences in several states.
Geothermal Heating & Cooling
This program draws on the experience and expertise of geothermal industry and agency professionals and will define geothermal "state of the art" in terms of design options and economic pay back; demonstrate the environmental and strategic benefits of this technology; dispel common myths about the effectiveness, reliability and safety of ground source systems; explain industry-accepted installation, operation and maintenance practices; and provide an update on state, local and regulatory oversight recommendations.
