Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Brady seeks a safer future for every American – when dozens of gun deaths every day are no longer normal, and we can all live our lives free from the fear of being shot.

Brady will greatly decrease the number of gun deaths by bringing together and rallying all Americans around three focused, impact-driven solutions built entirely on the surprising common ground that already exists: everyone wants to be safe, and people who are a danger to themselves or others should not have access to guns.
Three strategies:
• Expanding and protecting the Brady background check system
• Slow the flow of crime guns to urban communities
• Change the perception that owning/carrying a gun makes your safer

Brady maintains expertise in State and Federal policy, legislation and laws. It employs a litigation team of five and leverages vast pro-bono support from some of the best law firms in the country. It leverages internal public health expertise as well as association partnerships (e.g. APHA).

• For more than 20 years there has been a year over year increase in the percentage of the population protected by Brady background checks.
• Since the program's inception in 2000 there has been a year over year increase in the number of parents who ASK if there is a guy where their child plays.
• Multiple victories in the courts; most recently the victory in the Florida Gag Rule case.
