Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our organization fills the need for senior adults who require a facility that provides comfort, safety and assistance with activities of daily living in a home-like environment. Seniors who become Adult Home residents of our facility are able to age-in-place while transitioning into our Assisted Living Program. Unlike other similar facilities, residents of Vassar-Warner Home are not discharged when unable to pay the private pay rate with the help of a private foundation subsidizing the reduced rates. We are proud to provide this assistance as a charitable non-profit.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Adult Home
Vassar-Warner Home has 43 designated Adult Care Facility beds licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Services provided under this program include private rooms, 24-hour supervision, personal care services, on-site banking and personal spending accounts, housekeeping and laundry, 3 nutritious meals per day, cable in each room, fun daily activities and more!
Assisted Living Program
In addition to the 43 Adult Care Facility beds, Vassar-Warner Home also provides residents who may eventually require more care to become part of the 15-bed Assisted Living Program, also certified by the New York State Department of Health. The Assisted Living Program provides all the same services as provided in the Adult Care Facility with the addition of more one-on-one care and assistance.

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
As the only non-profit Adult Care Facility with Assisted Living Program in Dutchess County, NY, our primary goal is to continue providing quality care and services to a Senior Adult population within our abilities under the guidance of the New York State Department of Health.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our organization continues to develop plans and strategies in making our facility more appealing to an ever-changing clientele. With more Senior adults living longer in their own homes, all Adult Homes have had to make adjustments to not only the physical structures of their facilities, but also the way services are provided. Our facility continues to adapt to these changes and our volunteer Board of Trustees continue to discuss ways to address the many "faces" of Senior adult care.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our organization is capable of meeting our goals due to the compassion and determination of a dedicated staff and Board of Trustees. Work for a non-profit is never done in meeting such goals and financial burdens are forever addressed by fund raising activities in support of their mission. Approaching our 148th anniversary, we continue to respect the goals of our founders, which gives us the drive to keep going into the future.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Vassar-Warner Home has accomplished many milestones over the past 148 years. Last year we increased our number of ALP beds to 15 to assist in the increased needs of today's clientele. We are currently working on some minor renovations to refresh the look of the facility and making it more appealing for what they want and what their caretakers desire.
