Mission

The mission of the Northwest Choirs is to provide the highest level of music education and vocal performance opportunity to the children and young adults of the Pacific Northwest region, and to contribute to the cultural life of the community by providing access to a unique choral resource. The Northwest Choirs is committed to being the finest choir of its kind in the region and among the finest in the nation. The Northwest Choirs achieves this by recruiting and training the most talented young people in the area and by engaging its participants in the mastery of choral music with an emphasis on musicianship, self-discipline, teamwork, commitment, and professional behavior. Founded in 1971, and incorporated as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization in 1974, the Northwest Choirs is committed to making its programs accessible to young people regardless of religion, social background, and financial situation.

The Northwest Choirs is a non-profit music education organization based in Seattle, Washington. The Northwest Choirs consist of the Northwest Boychoir and Vocalpoint! Seattle, a high school-age ensemble, as well as five levels of training choirs. With more than 200 members ages 6 to 18, the Choir draws from 80 public and private schools throughout the Puget Sound region. The staff of the Northwest Boychoir, under the leadership of Music Director, Joseph Crnko, places great emphasis on musical education and training. The Northwest Choirs provide a year-round program that includes regular twice-weekly rehearsals, a residential summer music camp, a rigorous concert schedule, and a biannual international tour program.
