Advocacy Week
NARAL WA conducts lobbying trainings for our members to help them influence the decisions of their legislators and elected officials. With these tools, members might take direct action - emailing, calling, or 1:1 meetings with lawmakers - or use personal platforms to bring awareness to an issue. During the Washington State Legislative Session, NARAL WA mobilizes trained activists to lobby their lawmakers on behalf of NARAL WA's legislative agenda to advance reproductive freedom across the State.
Supporting Pro-Choice Candidates
NARAL WA coordinates phone calls, social network engagement, and candidate outreach, with NARAL WA’s organizing staff in support of endorsed candidates. In 2020, NARAL WA’s electoral team coordinated more 43,000 phone calls. Once candidates are elected, NARAL WA works with leaders at the state and municipal level to pass laws and policies that expand and protect access to reproductive freedom for everybody.
Grassroots & Direct Lobbying for Priority Legislation
Pro-Choice Washington works closely with coalition partners, organizers, and membership to identify the key barriers to reproductive freedom in Washington, to develop a slate of legislative priorities, and to lobby for the passage and implementation of critical legislation.
Distribution of a Pro-Choice Voters Guide
Pro-Choice Washington publishes information on lawmakers’ priorities, positions, and actions to inform voting and to improve civic participation (Legislative Agenda, Voters Guide, Legislative Scorecard, and Activist Academies).
