I CARE IF YOU LISTEN (ICIYL) is an award-winning multimedia hub for living music creators powered by American Composers Forum (ACF). Founded in December 2010 by Thomas Deneuville, ICIYL was born from a desire to create a dedicated space for talking about contemporary classical music. Through a unique blend of music criticism, promotional features, and multimedia content, ICIYL strives to be a leading advocate for artists who have been historically underrepresented or marginalized in Western classical music by highlighting equitable programming, facilitating challenging conversations, cultivating a safe platform, and creating educational resources.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The American Composers Forum facilitates an ecosystem of creativity through music. Our goal is to make composers, and the music they create, a vibrant and integral part of our culture. Programs reflect the diversity of our world, and we partner with a variety of ensembles and organizations to create new opportunities for new work to flourish.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Over the course of four decades, ACF has nurtured the work of thousands of composers. The innova recording label has released over 500 titles, and our BandQuest® and ChoralQuest® series for middle level students has reached over half million students. New programs like ACF CONNECT offer direct connections and commissions with leading national ensembles. The organization has a rich history of granting programs, readings, salons, conferences and residencies that support the creation of new work and connect composers to communities.
Today, ACF has about 2,000 members in all 50 states, including composers, performers, schools and conservatories. Members come from both urban and rural areas; they work in virtually every musical genre, including orchestral and chamber music, “world" music, opera and music theater, jazz and improvisational music, electronic and electro-acoustic music, and sound art. In addition to the tangible benefits of membership (newsletters, invitations to events, and access to grant, fellowship, and residency opportunities), members are part of a national community of artists who share common concerns, aspirations, and goals.
