Mission

Mission Statement: Transforming college students to transform the world The CCO calls college students to serve Jesus Christ with their entire lives. 1. We develop students to be passionate leaders who serve Jesus Christ in their studies, jobs, communities, and families. 2. We serve together with the church, inviting students into the lives of local congregations. 3. We design each ministry to fit the needs of every campus we serve. We started based in the Mid-Atlantic region and are growing to campuses across the country. We estimate that over a million students have been influenced by the CCO's ministry.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

There are 20 million college students in the United States, more than at any time in history. Only 2% are being reached by a Christian ministry on campus. The fastest growing religious group in the U.S. is atheist, agnostic, or nothing in particular. And 35 million young people who were raised in Christian households will walk away from a life with Jesus by 2050. We also know that over half of college students report feeling hopeless.

Campus Ministry

The CCO calls college students to serve Jesus Christ with their entire lives. We do so through Biblical discipleship in the context of the local church. We equip students to be ambassadors of the Kingdom of God in their vocations, communities, families, and churches.

Jubilee is a one-of-a-kind conference to equip students to serve Jesus Christ with their entire lives: in their vocations, communities, families, and churches. For over 40 years, Jubilee has challenged and equipped college students to understand the public implications of their personal transformation. Through the Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration framework of scripture, students learn about the Gospel and how it applies to their lives and where God is calling them to serve His Kingdom.

The CCO Fellowship Program is a one-year opportunity to minister to college students while being mentored by an experienced CCO staff member. The Fellowship Program provides intensive Biblical and ministry training, intentional opportunities for growth and ministry experience, and much more. It is a full-time job open to candidates who have completed an undergraduate education with the option to continue in ministry with the CCO after completing a successful Fellowship year.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our mission is "transforming college students to transform the world." Our vision is to see a generation of college students transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, in partnership with the local church, reaching the world for the glory of God. We accomplish this by:
1. Sharing the Gospel with students and developing passionate disciples of Jesus Christ
2. Serving together with the Church and inviting students into the lives of local congregations
3. Giving students a vision for serving Jesus Christ in their studies, jobs, communities, and families

We partner together with the local church to place Campus Ministry staff on over 140+ college/university campuses across the country. Campus staff serve together with the local church to bring the Gospel to campus and students into the life of the local church.

With nearly 50 years of experience, over 300 staff reach students across the country through the context of the local church.

The funding for our ministry and expansion is made sustainable through three sources of revenue: campus staff fundraising, partner organization payments, and general fund raising (Next Generation Fund) by the CCO.

The CCO was founded in 1971. Since then, hundreds of thousands of students have been reached through CCO ministry. The CCO is now on over 140 campuses across the country. Congregations and denominations that are interested in reaching college students continue to seek new partnerships with the CCO. We fully expect that during the next several years our growth will take us to well over 200 campuses.
