Mission

The mission of the State College Choral Society (SCCS) is to prepare and perform high-quality music from a wide spectrum of choral repertoire; to educate singers and audiences about the treasures of choral music; and to provide the community with experiences unique to the choral art. Choral Society is a volunteer chorus comprised of over 120 singers who perform choral music from all genres. Members of the ensemble, an age-diverse group of singers, are actively recruited from across Central Pennsylvania. Any concert may feature professional soloists and/or accompanying instrumentalists. The Choral Society seeks to develop the next generation of choral singers by sponsoring young singers in ways that provide outstanding young singers with opportunities to perform with the Choral Society.

Annual Christmas with the Choral Society

The Choral Society joins guest instrumentalists and members of local middle and high school choirs in renditions of traditional Christmas carols and holiday songs. An audience carol sing-a-long concludes the concert. This is offered as a FREE GIFT to the community because of generous concert sponsorship. In lieu of admission, audience members are invited to bring a canned good item to benefit the State College Food Bank.
