What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Main Stage Theatre
South Park Theatre produces 8 Main Stage shows every season. The shows include comedies, dramas and musicals and appeal to a wide range of people. Admission is affordable - ticket prices range from $7.50 for students to $18 for musicals.
Children's Theatre Program
South Park Theatre's Childrens Theatre Program produces 4 shows - 8 performances of each show - every summer. The shows are presented on the theatre's grounds on our unique, outdoor stage. Over 4,700 children and parents/guardians attend the shows. Over 100 children audition each summer and more than half are cast in the shows. Admission is only $3 and concessions are sold for $0.25-$0.50. South Park Theatre provides free admission to a number of local in-need/special-need children's organizations, including a free additional performance for the 300 Scouts attending the South Park Boy Scout Camp each summer.
Intern Program
South Park Theatre hires 3 or 4 high school/college students to intern at the theatre every summer. This program gives those enrolled a chance to participate in various aspects of theatre production and management - including set construction, stage managing, costuming, customer service, fund-raising, marketing and many other activities.
Children's Summer Camp
In 2013, South Park Theatre introduced an 8-day summer camp for children ages 6-13. Participants were taught various acting techniques and focused on stage presence, memorization skills, and teamwork. The camp culminated in a full-particiption production that was open to the public. With 18 very satisfied participants in its inagural year, South Park Theatre looks forward to continuing and expanding the program each summer.
