What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Camp Programs
Shelby farms park conservancy hosts spring break, fall break and summer camp programs for youth in the Memphis city area. Our educational camps focus on environmental sustainability, outdoor recreation such as archery, bike safety workshops and canoeing, and art/culture such as folk art and glass blowing. We tie in Tennessee core curriculum standards into daily classroom-style lessons and writing assignments. Children spend one week at Shelby Farms, exploring the natural environment and wildlife, under supervision of a 1:6 counselor ratio.
Wise Trek
Wise Trek is a program series for Park users ages 50+. Wise Trek programs and events provide participants with healthy lifestyle tips, recreational opportunities, fitness programs and social events.
Get Outside! Fitness Programs
Get Outside! Fitness Programs offer a chance for every person to get outside and enjoy exercising. Working with program partners, we offer a variety of fitness programs to offer something for everyone. This promote community togetherness and support groups for working out. We want to encourage all people to understand the importance of self care and exercise.
