What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Centre County PA is the home of Penn State University's main campus and is a location attractive to many retirees. As such, our community is evolving and changing frequently with people moving in and moving out. Those wishing to serve by volunteering locally or who have goods they would like to donate to a local charity may not know where to find these organizations. By having Volunteer Centre County's website available (and soon an APP), a "one-stop shop" can exist helping residents find ways to give back easily. Volunteer Centre County promotes its Community Partners' needs and is working on having a larger presence in Centre County, PA.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Volunteer Centre County’s goal is to offer one easily accessible place for our Community Partners to post their requests for volunteers’ expertise and donated items so that people who wish to give in Centre County can easily find opportunities to give their talents and treasures locally.

We aim to engage 50 more local organizations as approved Community Partners.

Add a user portal and App in 2023.

We are ramping up our social media activities and are increasing our sponsorships to promote our Community Partners.

We are hiring contractors needed to help us with social media, and administrative work, and are under contract with our development team to create the APP and user portal in 2023.

We have funding in place for the next 2 years. We will be looking for funding sources later this year to prepare for the future.

We have built a robust SEO-enhanced website that allows Community Partners (locally approved charities) to post and manage their needs for volunteers and goods. WE have added a widget for them to use on their websites linking to our website, and we have rolled out a Blog that has a "spread the word" feature linking event news to Community Partners' unique pages on our site. We have managed to do this with private funding and an all-volunteer staff since inception.
