Education and Outreach

n collaboration with the Lowveld Rhino Trust and Frankfurt Zoological Society, we are establishing long term, sustainable conservation education programs in all primary schools within a 10km radius of the key protected areas in the Lowveld. In total we work with close to 120 schools in the area.

African wild dogs have a striking appearance, are intelligent, and highly interactive and caring; they are truly one of the most unique species alive today. However, listed as Africa’s second most endangered large carnivore, they are in desperate need of our help and protection.

The Gonarezhou National Park (1,930mi2) is located in southeast Zimbabwe, bordering Mozambique to the east and with its southern boundary only 50km from the South African border.The Gonarezhou Predator Project was established in 2009 acknowledging the need for information on the status of the park’s large carnivore populations. The project is a joint initiative by the Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and part funded by the African Wildlife Conservation Fund.
