Mission

An international non-profit 501C(3) that advances the unitary philosophies, theories and practices of ‘Caring Science’, developed by Dr. Jean Watson, Ph.D., RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, LL (AAN). Caring Science is a transdisciplinary approach to NURSING that incorporates the art and science of nursing and includes concepts from the fields of philosophy, ethics, ecology and mind-body-spirit medicine. Focusing on research, education, practice, legacy and leadership, Watson Caring Science Institute aims to deepen the development and understanding of Caring Science and Practices, to dramatically transform patient/family experiences of caring and healing in schools, hospitals, the wider community and our planet. Caritas Coach Education Program (CCEP)

CCEP  is a unique six-month educational program offered by the Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI), that is structured as an experiential, aesthetic, personal, ethical, and intellectual journey designed to prepare clinicians, educators, caregivers, and leaders with knowledge, experience, and informed practices of Caring Science and the Theory of Human Caring. Participants will learn how to synthesize, integrate, and translate the philosophy, values, ethics, and theory of Caring Science into authentic Caritas-Ways-of-Being for self and others. A combination of innovative teaching-learning methodologies, self-reflection, authentic dialogue, and ‘teachings’ and wisdom traditions are explored to assist the participants in living out Heart-Centered-Caritas Relation-Modeling Practices for self, other and systems.

The International Caritas Consortium is supported and sponsored by the growing number of educational and health care settings transforming their practices, their students, faculty, practitioners and their systems by implementing new professional practice models. These Human Caring Science Models are informed and deepened by the values, ethic, and moral ideals of human caring and heart-centered living, along with the philosophy, theory and sciences that manifest in our daily relationships.The ICC emerged as a safe forum to explore, create, renew self and system through reflective time out.It is intended to provide and intimate forum to restore and deepen each person's and each system's commitment and authentic practices of human caring-healing in our personal/professional life and work;
Share ideas, inspire each other and learn together;Develop and disseminate Caring Science models of clinical and educational scholarship and professional excellence in various settings in the world.

This unique leadership program is designed to engage in deep study and personal mastery of Caritas Leadership, guided by Caring Science literacy, and the 10 Caritas Processes® of Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring. The Caritas Leadership Program™️ has been developed for individuals and hospital systems, nursing schools or other value/mission-driven organizations with a desire to develop and implement authentic care and value systems of Caring Science within their workplace and beyond.
CARITAS LEADERS™️ WILL:
Explore an evolved worldview of Unitary Caring Science as context for higher consciousness of leadership – informed by a value, philosophy, ethic and ontology of ‘belonging’, connectedness and relations.
Embrace Unitary Caring Science, intellectually and experientially, through the power of Caritas Leadership Circles. Engage in the 10 Caritas Processes® as a foundation for ontological leadership practice as a guide toward ‘being-in-right-relation’ with self/other/organization
