BLINKNOW FOUNDATION

We envision a world where every child is safe, educated, and loved.

Mission

BlinkNow is changing the world by empowering Nepal's children. We do this by providing quality education, a safe environment, and through inspiring others.

Notes from the nonprofit

We are always on the lookout for remarkable people to be part of our BlinkNow family. Volunteer opportunities range from Dashain Vacation Camp volunteers to assisting at our U.S. Headquarters. From the very beginning of our story, we have built this community together. Every red brick, every hot breakfast, and every amazing breakthrough – all made possible by dedicated people. There are many ways to get involved, create something, and build a brighter future for the children, families and women of Kopila Valley. We seek positive, fun, and extraordinary thinkers and doers from around the world, because we know that together, we can change our world!

The simplest way to help is often the most effective. No matter how large or small, every donation has the power to make a real impact. We are incredibly thankful that--with the love of extraordinarily kind-hearted supporters and endlessly generous friends--our Kopila family continues to grow and our dreams to transform into realities, right before our eyes!

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

At BlinkNow, we believe that every child in the world should be provided with the most basic needs and rights – a safe home, medical care, an education and love. And with that, they will grow up to be adults with a social conscience and the skills to continue our mission of ending the cycles of poverty and violence in our world. We believe that in the blink of an eye, we can all make a difference.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Kopila Valley School

Kopila Valley School is a top ranked school in Western Nepal serving over 350 children from nursery through 10th grade. Out of 76 private, nonprofit, public, and government schools in the area, Kopila Valley is the only school completely free of charge. Each student receives for free a tuition, healthcare, counseling and tutoring, transportation, a daily lunch and snack, uniforms and warm pajamas, extracurricular activities, school supplies, holiday camp admission and so much more.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth
At-risk youth

We provide a loving home and family for over 50 children from infant through late teen years. Our home is a source of safety, sanctity, peace, and happiness. And unforgettable memories. This is where our family eats meals together. Where we sing together. Where we read books at bedtime and rest our heads at night. In so many ways, we built this home together – one story at a time.

Population(s) Served

Kopila Valley Women's Center educates local women in numeracy, literacy, job skills training, parenting and human rights. The Women's Center store provides employment and economic opportunities at fair wages.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Over the years, our passion and commitment have turned into a home, a school and a successful grassroots organization. The vision of the BlinkNow Foundation is to:

Sustain, grow and support Kopila Valley Children’s Home and School in Surkhet, Nepal
Serve as a vehicle to share ideas with others, especially children and teens in the U.S.
Empower young people to become pioneers in developing their own solutions to world poverty
The time for change is now. In addition to the home and school, we provide a Health Clinic and Women’s Center for our community in Kopila Valley. Construction is underway for a high school. And more ideas and inspirations are always on the horizon.

BlinkNow is currently in a strategic planning phase to show clear strategies, objectives, benchmarks and final results with the public.

BlinkNow has funded the Kopila Valley programs for over 11 years. We work side by side with the local community and government to ensure success for our programming.

A loving home for over 50 children. A school for 350 young students. A program to prepare our graduates for their futures. A safe house for 10 of our most at-risk female students. A center for the women of Surkhet to gather and learn. A new school campus made from the earth. A community that is strong both in health and in the environment that surrounds us. This is the world we want to see every day. Of course, our work is never done. After all, progress never stops.

We will keep working until every child is safe, educated and loved. We hope to be an inspiration for like-minded groups or individuals who want to replicate our open model in other parts of the world.
