Mission

TMBA is a culture, a political advocate, a community, and a resource. Our local, member-driven club exists to protect access to trails, advocate for new trail development, host events large and small, and in general have a good time doing what we love, riding mountain bikes.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The club has been loosely organized for many years, entirely focused on building relationships with area land managers and volunteering to perform maintenance and build trails. Recently, the club has realized the need to raise money to hire professional trailbuilders and to bolster volunteer efforts that are unable to keep up with the maintenance requirements, particularly in the wake of an impactful 2018 hurricane season. Erosion is a primary issue.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

-Extend and improve our regional trail system.
-Conduct regular weekly rides for all ages and abilities.
-Promote the sport of mountain biking.
-Schedule quarterly out of town trips to trail systems for members.
-Build relationships with the City, County, and Federal government officials that manage area lands to build support for the trail system
-Strengthen partnerships with other area groups to improve cycling opportunities in the area.
-Achieve the IMBA Ride Center designation.

-Professional Lobbying
-Fundraising
-Hiring professional trail building firms.

Our membership has grown in the past 3 years to just over 200 members.

We've purchased enough tools to supply large volunteer groups to perform trail work. We organize at least one trail work day per month.

The association President is a successful lobbyist in Florida government as well as an avid and knowledgeable mountain biker.

We have strong relationships with the City and County officials that manage the lands in the area where trails currently exist.

We recently raised $15,000 to help the City pay for a professional trail building crew to come to town and work for 3-4 weeks.
