What we aim to solve
Empart aims to develop communities and care for the vulnerable, the broken, and the lost. Millions of children in the areas where we work do not have loving families or schools to attend, people who are mentally ill are cast out of their homes, widows and orphans are told they have no value, and more than 600 million people do not have access to toilets.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community Relief
Empart trains social workers to provide relief wherever needed among the most remote parts of Asia. This includes provides sources of fresh water and other sanitation initiatives, schools for children, skills development centers for adults, and other forms of assistance.
Elderly and Widow Homes
Southern Asia has a growing population of senior citizens over 60 years old. In fact, according to a recent census, 77 million or 7% of the population is over 60. Many in the aged population have nowhere to live.
Empart field workers have a deep commitment to taking care of the older citizens. They provide quality life to aged members of their community, shelter and a roof for the homeless, medical care, health support, and counseling. Further, field workers champion the cause to raise awareness of the community’s responsibility towards the elderly.
In addition to caring for the elderly, Empart's social workers care for widows as well. Empart has started an initiative called The Naomi Project to care for and aid wives and children of field workers who have been killed. As Empart cares for the widows left behind, we have become accurately aware of how difficult life is for windows. Through Empart’s Naomi Homes we provide a place of safety, security and hope for a future. Our goal is to build 10 homes where widows and their children will be able to live together and learn marketplace skills as well as care of abandoned/orphaned children in the community.
Deep-Core Bore Wells and Toilets
More than 600 million people in the area where Empart works do not have access to sanitation. Defecation in open areas is common and leads to diseases and assault.
We are committed to providing health, safety, and dignity by digging deep-core bore wells that can easily be maintained by the community and building toilet and sink blocks so people have access to private sanitation.
Education Centers
Empart provides quality, English-medium education to all students, regardless of caste or background. Our schools are located in villages that are not served by other schools and we provide a loving, caring, and academically challenging atmosphere for students to grown and learn. We believe that education is the key to breaking out of the cycle of poverty.
