What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Eagle Scholars
Eagle Scholars was created to assist students who are capable of entering college, but need assistance in becoming college ready. The 150 middle and high school students and the 50 college students in the program represent over 30 cultures, though they all live in the small community of Vickery Meadow. Most are the first in their family to attend college. Students are chosen at the end of their sixth grade year and continue in the program through college. The students attend six weeks of intensive programming each summer and weekly programming throughout the school year. College students meet one-on-one each semester to complete their College Budget Sheet and make sure they are staying on track to graduate. Scholars receive information on social skills, collaboration, team work, networking, career assessments, and visit a variety of cultural events and colleges. Ninety percent of our Scholars graduate with no debt.
Parent Groups
Parents have the opportunity to attend various programs that help create a healthy family - programs on health, domestic violence, healthy eating, navigating the school system for their children. Different classes and programs operate year-round at various times and dates.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are seeking to equip young people and their parents with the knowledge and access to the educational system, as well as connect them to resources and wrap-around services that ensure they can navigate the system and overcome the barriers along the way.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
For middle school Scholars we provide college readiness programs, academic trips, and soft skills opportunities.
High school Scholars receive more college readiness programs, financial literacy, SAT prep, college research, and guidance in applying to scholarships.
College Scholars receive one-on-one support each semester to help them track their college budget and ensure they are keeping up grades and have the financial support necessary.
Additionally, programs are provided for parents to understand and navigate the educational system, as well as wrap-around services that address familial and health issues they identify as areas of concern.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Expertise in the preparing students for college and for life after college.
Connection to the community and an ability to discern needs and programs that are necessary for helping students succeed in college and beyond.
Experience in bringing together stakeholders in collaborative decision making.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We currently have 49 Scholars in college and 37 graduates. We are looking to expand the program in order for more young people to be able to access college and fulfill their dreams.
