Tumbleweed Boys Ranch, Inc.

Because horses are a large part of the western ranch life experience, each boy is assigned his own horse and is responsible for his horse?s care and feeding. Horses reflect and respond to the boys with a directness that will break down defensive barriers. The unspoken inexplicable bond that is often formed between a boy and his horse can change a young man?s hard-line personality in deeply significant ways.

In addition to attending the local school, each boy is responsible for doing his homework and ranch chores, which include working with the seasons' new calves, harvesting hay, growing vegetables and mending fences.

The boys live in the main ranch home with the Program Director and the Counselor. The program is organized around providing these at-risk youth five key components:
