What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Children First Foundation USA aims to address cultural issues in society by enriching the lives of less fortunate children and families. One of the big problems in society is that children and families with limited resources cannot grow as more affluent families would. Children First seeks to solve this problem by creating and giving to programs that will enhance the lives of families and children through culture, education and exposure to travel and the arts.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Wings for the Single Mom

Wings for the Single Mom is a program initiative of Children First
Foundation USA and is dedicated to increasing the quality of life and
standard of living of disadvantaged and full-time working single
mothers and their children by exposure to culturally diverse
educational and travel experiences. We believe culturally diverse
education and travel programs will serve to expand levels of thought, to attain refinement, and develop the mind, body and soul for personal and intellectual growth and advancement in the hopes of cultivating peace, tolerance, and acceptance within our world. Wings for the Single Mom aims to offer exclusive theme based education programs with an emphasis on Human Rights Education and travel programs. Our aim is to focus on poverty stricken areas within the community to service children of single mother households in grades K-2 (Ages 5-8).

Population(s) Served

Movement and campaign to implement a collaborative law statute in the State of Florida to put Children First in the Legal System and reduce adversarial proceedings in the family courts.

Population(s) Served

Children are the building blocks of any society and as such we must strive to make education a priority in our society. We believe in allowing children to foster their individuality and to use creativity as a means by which to encourage and enhance academic learning. We see standardized testing as a tool that serves to diminish capacity rather than to encourage intellectual capacity. Therefore we stand together to promote Theme Based Education in classrooms across the nation and encourage advocacy & grassroots campaigns to diminish standardized testing.

Population(s) Served

Human rights education is an essential tool for the creation of an empathetic civilization and as such we believe that human rights education is an essential part of any curriculum and should be taught to children across the globe. Children First Foundation USA seeks to implement humans right education programs in schools across Miami-Dade County.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The aim is not to focus on negative issues, but instead to give children and families resources to improve physically and in mind through exposure to education and culture. We do not provide a quick fix, instead we aim to build up human beings so they can become better members of society and function in a positive manner.

The strategies to make this happen is to work with local communities and governments to implement programs. First and foremost, funding is necessary. The organization is being elevated to focus on a new campaign is being launched in 2018 to improve the lives of single moms in law school by offering them scholarships to pay for tuition, books, living expenses and child care. Fundraising efforts and the campaing will commence in January 2018 and continue until Fall 2018 at which point applications will be accepted for scholarships.

The organization has all the capabilities of fundraising online and through the legal community, as the founder is an attorney in Florida. Additionally, all formalities are in place, where funding will be directed directly to programs. There are also past volunteers that are ready to assist when needed. Children First Foundation USA is a 100% volunteer run organization, as such all funding goes directly to those in need after expenses are paid.

The organization grew when implemented and fulfilled many cultural activities and outings through the Wings for the Single Mom program. More than 50 moms and 40 children were affected. Further, the Collaborative Law Program saw an impact in which a rule was passed in the Florida courts related to collaborative law. What is next is increasing funding to allow for program development. In 2018 we are launching the Scholarship for Moms in Law School Program and Campaign to assist single mothers in law school. Funds will go directly to these moms after a vetting process and interview.
