Artmonk Retreat

The Artmonk Retreat is a weeklong silent meditation retreat with the intention to explore the connection between creativity and contemplation. Inspired by vipassana-style meditation retreats, this retreat incorporates daily song & chant, solo and collaborative creative sessions along with sitting meditation.

Population(s) Served

The summer program at Art Monastery Italia focuses on the performing arts. Run as a 90-day retreat, a temporary community of 15 artists and art professionals is formed. Following a rigorous daily schedule including contemplative practice, the group develops and then performs an original theater production.
