Mission

Semper Fi Rescue is an official 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit all volunteer group dedicated to saving Alabama dogs from high kill shelters and educating the public on the importance of Spay/Neuter.

Notes from the nonprofit

Currently we work with Rescue Partners to get as many dogs out of the high kill shelters, or prevent them from ever entering. We have a wonderful network of fosters, partners, transporters and volunteers that are dedicated to the animals in our care.

In 2009 we started the first Spay/Neuter Transport from Calhoun County to ALSNC in Irondale. We are the clinics most successful county now taking about 60 dogs and cats twice a month for surgery. The program is now ran by S.A.V.E. We hope to continue to work close with our local community to promote proper animal care and educate on the importance of spay/neutering as well as provide them with low cost options. We feel that Spay and Neuter is the only real answer to the over population problem.

We are working on plans for an in-site facility.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We hope to fund and build an on-site rescue and sanctuary facility to quarantine and save more dogs from high kill shelters in our area. We also will be helping to push legally for more mandatory spay/neuter laws.

We would like to serve as a foster for the Battered women's shelter. This is near and dear to my heart given my childhood. Some victims of domestic violence will not leave their abuser because they know their dogs will suffer the consequences. We could provide a safe haven for those dogs till the victim is settled in a new place that is pet friendly.

Many veterans don't have the finances or the transport to get their pets vetted. We would like to start a program where we can help with both.

We would like to create a food Pantry. We would like to stock it for citizens that have to choose between feeding their pets and families. Anything we can do to keep pets with owners.

We have shown since 2008 that we are willing to think outside the box in order to save animals.

The only thing that keeps us from saving more and educating is financial support.

We have great relationships with the community and local shelters. We need an on site facility.
