Program 1
Restoration and beautification of downtown Yemassee First project is restoration of the historic train depot Achievements to date are as follows 1 Completed conceptual design and costs estimates for train station and adjoining parking lot renovations 2 Defined detailed deal with CSX on transfer of train station building and sale of adjoining property to Town of Yemassee 3 Worked with Amtrak to finalize a lease agreement between Amtrak and the Town of Yemassee for the train station building
Program 2
Education regarding history and culture of the Yemassee area 1 Launched a history story-telling program with the 5th & 6th graders of Fennell Elementary School in Yemassee Organized three presentations with guest speakers for the students Number of people served 1002 Conducted a Yemassee Town & Country Holiday Home Tour featuring several historical sites dating back to the revolutionary and civil war Number of people served 250Year 2010 1 Completed a history story telling program
Program 3
Preservation of the natural environment surrounding Yemassee 1 Conducted two community clean-ups Number of people served 8002 Distributed two newsletters featuring environmental education topics Number of people served 1000 Year 2010 No activities in 2010
