What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Too many students are reading and functioning overall below grade level. With the changes in the way that schools are now graded on their performance, and that of their students, we plan to use the Arts as a motivator and core tool to help students achieve academic success.

Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

The Art of Creative Writing and Lyrical Expression

This progressive and extremely inspirational program takes youth on a journey through creative writing, song writing and lyrical expression, while at the same time offering a rare and safe outlet for them to positively express themselves, without being judged.

This program provides youth with a creative means for musical expression, while at the same time integrating components of literacy into the program, which translates into the academic setting.

Population(s) Served
Adolescents

The After School Advantage Program provides twenty-five (25) youth (ages 5-18) with access to computers and technology, academic tutoring, various music, dance and art classes, Monday-Friday, from the hours of 2-7pm.

Our after school program also offers local high school youth the opportunity to complete their volunteer hours for graduation requirements.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

This class serves as an artistic platform for self expression and grief expression and can be utilized in conjunction with The Art of Creative Writing and Lyrical Expression, as many of the kids will create a pseudonym and will want to make it "come alive" visually through their music.
Although the class is art based, writing activities and verbal expression will be incorporated, where the students can describe their creative works by writing and presenting to their peers, when the situation presents itself. Each student will have his or her own "visual journal" in which they can draw and/or write about anything they choose, which often leads to a positive and safe outlet for expression.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

This is a life-readiness model that exposes youth to digital arts and merchandising operations while creating a pipeline toward a sustainable revenue source for our agency and teenagers as they transition into adulthood.

Population(s) Served

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Increase academic achievement among school-aged children in the zip code of 32948.

- Provide a comprehensive pre-assessment involving both child and family and/or caregiver.
- Use that data to craft engaging, relevant and appropriate programming for the youth as well as goals.
- Reflect on initial and ongoing feedback from teacher and student and assess alternatives to approach if needed.
- Revisit goals to see if milestones are achieved and continue to work toward success. Flexibility is key.

We have ample resources to make this happen since we expanded to the Space Coast and Treasure Coast Region in early Summer 2022.

We've experienced a great deal of success on a micro level and now it is time to take our programs and fundraising initiatives to more of a public-facing approach and position, to impact more young lives.
