Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Aikido for Children, Youth and Adults
Two Cranes offers training in aikido movement, energy awareness exercises, and conflict resolution philosophy to all ages seven days a week. We are inspired to share a “way” to study the profound martial and contemplative teachings of Morehei Ueshiba, O Sensei, the founder of Aikido.
In School & After School Program
TCI brings aikido into local schools through collaboration with existing in school and after-school programs, students develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. Using movement methods, energetic awareness and conflict resolution techniques, children increase their leadership capacity, manage stress and anxiety and develop the self-confidence to create peace in the world.
Aikido for Mental Health Professionals
We apply the principles of aikido in treating individuals with mental and emotional health problems--PTSD, anger management or the effects of abuse. Our program is designed to enhance the training and expertise of mental health professionals emphasizing trauma release.
Teacher Training
We offer a range of skills to support teachers emphasizing conflict resolution, energy awareness, personal safety, and aikido technique/philosophy for the purpose of sharing with youth and adults.
Leadership Training
TCI provides embodied leadership training to optimize performance, develop the emotional and physical ability to handle complex situations, improve executive function, build effective teams and negotiate sustainable agreements.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
In Aikido, we practice in relationship to another person so that learning is immediate and experienced holistically through body, mind, emotion and spirit. We intentionally simulate challenges in our training to explore compassionate and creative resolution rather than “winning.” By evoking a stress response during training, we can work with easing and retiring our unconscious patterns of reactivity. We help individuals ground in their bodies, open their hearts, connect with their partner, and fully engage with the world.
