Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Angels for Hearts aims to accomplish the following:
- Provide a sense of normalcy for pediatric heart patients and their families
-Provide a support group for families to interact with similar journeys of being a heart family
-Provide wish wants and needs for Child life programs
-Create a regional golf program that is looking to have a national presence
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Angels for Hearts strategies are the following:
-Provide events and activities including both heart patients, their families and hospital employees representing the "normalcy" of being a heart patient
-Create events that families can be together outside of a hospital setting
-Write grant proposals and create donation mailings for funds for all programs and hospital wanted items
-Working in affiliation with Morton Golf and Haggin Oaks Golf Complex to create a real-life video to send to corporate golf manufactures and in turn have more national sponsors to help support the program
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a Board of Directors with a diverse background that enables us to utilize our contacts and knowledge to grow the Angels for Hearts and I heart golf program.
We use social media and email marketing for our current donor lists and look to expand this any way we can.
We have a great support system in Sacramento as well as our additional hospitals in Palo Alto (Lucille Packard) and San Francisco (UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco). Angels for Hearts continues to be the receiver of grants and local donations based on our history and accomplishments.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Angels for Hearts has been successful in many ways. We have expanded our offering of events, created and founded the I Heart Golf program and have been apart of over 300 heart families lives for the past 9 years.
The next step for Angels for Hearts is to continue our work with the child life specialists, local hospitals wish wants and needs and to increase our I heart golf program to the East Bay.
