It carries out its mission through education and outreach including: using its website as a portal to provide educational materials about green building practices to the general public and construction industry; writing a monthly newsletter describing green building practices and promoting local events and seminars related to green building; sponsoring events (such as an annual green building tour); holding monthly meetings for its membership featuring guest speakers who lecture on various topics pertaining to the green building industry; and offering training leading to professional certifications for participants in the residential energy efficiency retrofit industry.
