Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
EXHIBITIONS
The exhibition space
at PPAC is one of the only gallery spaces in the Philadelphia area that is
dedicated to showing contemporary photographic art works. The space
currently hosts four exhibitions a year by established and emerging artists.
EDUCATION
The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center offers an extensive array
of educational programming consisting of artist
lectures, individual tutorials, community programs, workshops, classes,
photography book library, and monthly group critiques. Lectures, critiques, community
programs, and the library are free of charge, while workshops and classes are
available at affordable rates. Visiting artists are often invited to teach
classes and workshops, hold lectures and curate exhibitions.
DIGITAL RENTAL LAB AND SERVICES
The
Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is the only rental digital lab in the region
that is open to the general public. PPAC provides high-end software and
equipment that allows a photographer total control of their artwork. Free assistance is provided on
occasion. PPAC also offers
fee-for-service printing and scanning for artists who wish to outsource these
activities or where equipment is too sophisticated or fragile to be made
available on a rental basis. PPAC works closely with artists to achieve
their intent.
