What we aim to solve
Traditionally, Program for Humanitarian Aid’s (PHA's) focus has been serving vulnerable youth in Ukraine. However, since the war began on February 24, 2022, we have expanded that mission to serve any Ukrainian in need. Our efforts have shifted. Today, while continuing to serve orphans and at-risk youth, PHA’s Ukrainian staff members are also providing humanitarian aid to internally displaced Ukrainians.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Humanitarian Aid/ Orphan Transition Program
Program for Humanitarian Aid’s (PHA's) focus has been serving vulnerable youth in Ukraine. Today, due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine we are serving internally displaced Ukrainians. Due to PHA's contacts and connections made through helping the hurting in Ukraine that have been developed over years of service, we have the ability to help many who would otherwise fall through the cracks.
Every week, we distribute humanitarian aid kits to individuals with nowhere else to turn. These kits include food, hygiene, medical and bedding supplies. We are providing this help in Eastern Ukrainian cities. Each week we distribute hundreds of kits to families in need. Many have shared stories of being left out by other sources until they meet PHA.
Through the challenges created by the ongoing Russian aggression we also continue to be a support system for the PHA Family of orphans and at-risk youth.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
• Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
• Enable Ukrainian Christians to steward our shared ministry.
• Give the hopeless an opportunity to know and experience hope.
• Promote healthy life choices and family dynamics.
• Grow God’s Kingdom in Ukraine.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Each week we receive thousands of requests for aid from internally displaced Ukrainians. PHA’s Ministry Partners and graduates begin by sorting through and reaching out to those in or near the cities we serve. Once we have lists of people who need kits, our Ministry partners, graduates, and volunteers go out and buy the supplies and assemble the kits. Then on pickup days, people come to our facilities. PHA’s ministry partners listen to their stories, pray with them, and show them the love of Christ. Bibles and other materials are free for anyone who wants them, and many people take them. Every week a few of the people who came for aid kits show up on Sunday to join us for church. It is just as important for our ministry partners to listen and show that someone loves and cares for hurting people as it is to get them food and supplies.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have long established relationships and partnerships with Ukrainian locals. We buy supplies in country which supports the local economy and allows us to quickly react to changes and needs. PHA is focused on serving inside Ukraine today. We have the structure, we have the systems, and we have the local people in place to address the needs of internally displaced Ukrainians.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The war in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. On February 25th, 2022 PHA began providing aid to internally displaced Ukrainians who due to the war are displaced inside of Ukraine and we are still providing help today.
