What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Power Wise
GIPL’s Power Wise program is designed to help congregations lower their carbon footprint by reducing the amount of energy that is consumed on site. This reduction in energy consumption helps to reduce environmental injustices that are caused by the improper storage of energy waste, and the public health problems that are caused by coal and natural gas plants in Georgia. Water Wise
GIPL’s Water Wise program is designed to help congregations understand their water usage in order to explore and implement water-efficiency upgrades. Water is one of the most precious resources we have. Likewise, conserving water resources is one of the most important things a faith community can do to combat the negative effects of climate change, resource depletion, drought, and habitat reduction. Solar Wise
GIPL is committed to advancing Georgia’s clean energy economy. Expanding access to solar energy is central to this work. GIPL helps faith communities and religious schools explore solar as a viable energy option so as to reduce operating costs and carbon emissions. GIPL also actively pursues energy policies at the state and federal level that ensure all communities have equal access to renewable energy choices such as solar power. Green Team Coaching
GIPL’s Green Team Coaching Program is designed to provide additional structure and support for new Green Teams, or Green Teams that are re-launching. Through this program, eligible Green Teams will receive a GIPL Green Team Coach for 12 months that will provide hands on support, regular in-person and virtual consultations, and assistance in developing a Green Team specific strategic plan.
