What we aim to solve
We are working the animal crisis in Texas as many rescues are coping with at this time. We are finding ways to place cats & dogs into foster homes with our rescue or rescue partners. Our biggest need are funds for temporary boarding while waiting transports to rescues often out of state partners. Donations will allow us to find temporary boarding for medical needs and to keep a handful at a time cats or dogs out of the shelter so they are not euthanized. We are doing alot of transports with our van that we need repairs on and we do need a new van. We work with Pilots N Paws and similar organizations that fly pets for us, but we have driving to do between that.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
NoKill Rural Texas
Welcome to NoKill Rural Texas. We are an ambitious program under Shelter2Rescue Coalition. Our prayer, goal and unrelenting focus is to work closely with our ACO partners in small Texas shelters to help these shelters move from High Kill to No Kill*. We are partnering with transporters, veterinarians, and boarding facilities to provide grassroots support to our responsible rescue partners.
Please help us help the dogs and cats in these rural shelters who have no one else. We do absolutely know, without a doubt, that it will take a village to accomplish this lofty goal, BUT if we work together, we absolutely BELIEVE in our hearts that we can dramatically alter the fate of rural Texas shelter animals.
Please help in any way you can.
Shelter2Rescue Foster til adopted
Why should I foster?
Whether you’re helping a dog gain confidence or manners, or a cat feel love again or even bottle feed a kitten, thanks to your care and attention, fostering gives you the opportunity to single-handedly change an animal’s life for the better.
Each animal fostered out to a home opens up a cage or kennel space to save another animal.
Fostering can provide the unique, individualized attention that some special-needs animals require before they’re ready for adoption.
Fostering has a direct, positive impact on the animal and is a hugely rewarding experience for those who choose to become caregivers.
Shelter2Rescue’s foster program is always in need of temporary housing for the dogs and cats out of our rural shelters we work with.
